Colour is an instinct you already have. Kaffe will inspire you with dramatic new ways to use it – in what you make, what you wear and how you look at the world – then give you the confidence to develop your own designs. This isn't a course for beginners wanting to learn how to knit. There are practical tips along the way (even tension, tidying up your backs and ends), but you'll focus mostly on techniques like stripes, ombre and geometry: the foundations of fearless colour combinations of your own.
Your Maestro of chromatics is Kaffe Fassett MBE, celebrated for his vibrant work in knitting, needlepoint, patchwork and painting. He rose to prominence with fashion designer Bill Gibb, and in 1988 became the first living textile artist with a solo exhibition at the V&A. Across six decades, he has authored over 60 books, hosted shows like Glorious Colour (Channel 4) and A Stitch in Time (BBC), and created designs for Coach, the Royal Shakespeare Company, Rowan Yarns and Free Spirit Fabrics.
